Job Description

This on-site role with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago in Chicago, IL, centers on driving strategic growth through data analytics, market research, and customer engagement to advance the Bank’s strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic growth and improve decision making through data analytics, while fostering innovation through new product, data, or technology initiatives that impact customers.
  • Support the planning and execution of the Bank's strategic plan via market research, advanced analytics, and targeted customer engagement.
  • Identify new opportunities and add value through product development activities (ideation, opportunity sizing, design) or by updating current product policies and processes.
  • Understand the Bank’s business needs, strategy, and the competitive landscape to deliver value aligned with the Bank’s goals and customer requirements.
  • Utilize data analytics as a core daily capability to generate insights, inform change, and track progress toward objectives.
  • This position may have direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in Financial Services, Real Estate Development, or Economic Development, or roles such as financial market analysis, mortgage or investment research, sales, product development, or corporate strategy.
  • Relevant education may substitute for the experience requirement.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Word, with SQL required.
  • Advanced SQL and Tableau development skills are required.
  • Management experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large, complex datasets and promote data governance and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across departments, with the ability to engage with members and represent the department on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with capacity to devise creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to manage priorities and hold team members accountable for leading or delivering projects.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills for communicating with senior leaders.
  • Capability to translate complex analyses and business requirements into clear product, system, or data insights for colleagues.

Salary

USD 108,450 - 180,825 per year

What you’ll do

  • Lead and prepare customer insights, product usage trends, and success metrics for internal reports, senior leadership, members, and external stakeholders; may occasionally present findings.
  • Guide and perform market research on economic conditions, financial services trends, and the competitive landscape affecting members.
  • Support new product or system implementation and testing, focusing on integration and adoption of new data and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, Legal, Operations, Information Technology, Risk, and other stakeholders to assess product, reporting, and process improvements, especially for new or material changes.
