Job Description

The Regional Battery Sales Manager will lead Battery Route Sales representatives within the designated territory from an onsite location in Fort Washington, PA, providing developmental leadership and overseeing battery program processes and reporting to drive consistent sales results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the Battery Route Sales representatives and other team members within the assigned territory.
  • Provide strong developmental leadership by leveraging experience and sales acumen to help the team achieve targets.
  • Create, develop, implement, train, and manage performance on processes and procedures for the battery program.
  • Proactively audit compliance with processes and procedures governing the battery program.
  • Oversee financial reporting related to revenue streams (sales and consignment), manage inventory across company trucks, company warehouses, and customer-site consignments, and handle returns that affect revenue, including issuing credits for faulty or soon-to-expire batteries; coordinate vendor returns for defective batteries and track credits due the company for returned items.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising Department on battery vendors regarding customer service, accounting, and delivery considerations.
  • Audit commission programs to ensure they deliver return on investment and contribute to profitable sales growth in line with planning objectives.
  • Partner with Sales to ensure operating procedures support sales initiatives.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of company culture, selling organization, and product lines.
  • Influence colleagues who do not report directly to you to achieve program objectives; apply strong financial skills in decision making.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the automotive industry, battery vendors, and battery programs.
  • Utilize computer tools including Company Mainframe, AC Delco, Ford/Motorcraft proprietary programs, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Design workflows, processes, and procedures that enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Create training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer to team members.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills across written, verbal, and instructional formats.
  • Foster strong interpersonal relationships and work effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Manage multiple assignments concurrently while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent to effectively manage the region and customer base.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 to 10 years of proven sales experience, including 2 to 5 years in a regional leadership role.
  • A demonstrated track record of growing a region, guiding strategies to expand, and closing top opportunity accounts.
  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and train a motivated, goal-oriented sales team.
  • A strong preference for candidates with experience in the automotive and or battery marketing sectors.
