American Esoteric Laboratories is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead and develop a regional team of approximately 7-8 sales representatives from our Memphis, Tennessee onsite location. Responsibilities
- Model servant leadership with people, culture, and performance as core drivers
- Spend 60% of time in the field coaching, mentoring, and developing the team to improve performance and align with regional and company strategies
- Select, train, and manage the activities of territory sales representatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management
- Conduct performance evaluations and, when needed, carry out disciplinary action up to termination
- Partner with the Director of Sales Training on new hires and ongoing skill development
- Be accountable for the region’s overall performance and ensure reps meet or exceed sales goals set by management
- Oversee reps and, when appropriate, sell profitable business for American Esoteric Laboratories
- Adhere to all compliance standards and complete required training
- Ensure reps comply with company and department policies, providing training as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client, and company records and address related training as needed
- Foster a motivating work environment and provide accurate performance feedback
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, or an equivalent experience in laboratory sciences
- Preferred: Master’s degree
- Minimum: 5 years of relevant experience in a sales or marketing role, ideally in a medical reference laboratory environment
- At least 2 years of team coaching and leadership experience within healthcare systems and/or clinical laboratories
- Experience building and developing teams
- Experience with CRM operations (HC1)
- Strong coaching ability and performance measurement skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective presentation skills with strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level executives and key decision-makers
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently
- Highly motivated, team-oriented mindset
