Regional Sales Director
Job Description
Lead revenue growth and build a high-performing sales organization for the Austin metropolitan area through regional strategy, execution, and performance management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategic regional sales plans to meet or exceed territory growth and revenue expectations
- Partner with Sales Representatives in the field to evaluate selling capability and territory management, then help develop improvement plans
- Develop and roll out sales policies and procedures, including standards for products and/or services
- Direct sales forecasting and translate projections into performance goals
- Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control the sales program
- Lead channel development, coordinating sales distribution by setting territories, quotas, and goals
- Assign sales territories to Sales Representatives
- Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products and services
- Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Sales Representatives
- Conduct meetings with key clients, supporting Sales Representatives with relationship management, negotiation, and deal closing
- Coordinate a liaison function between the sales department and other sales-related units
- Analyze and control division expenditures to align with budget requirements
- Prepare periodic sales reporting covering sales volume, potential sales, and proposed client-base expansion areas
- Recommend and approve sales budgets and related expenditures
- Own people leadership for the sales function, including interviewing, hiring, training, work planning and directing, performance appraisals, recognition, discipline, complaint handling, and problem resolution
- Communicate with new and existing customers or clients to grow the business through up-selling, new lead generation, referrals, and product or service explanations
- Demonstrate or clearly explain product or service details and provide support for the best application of offerings
- Answer product and service questions, coordinating sales negotiations when needed
- Analyze and interpret historical and current sales records, trends, and costs, plus estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience (healthcare industry preferred)
- Proven results driving revenue growth and leading high-performing teams
