Job Description

Onsite in Petaluma, CA, the Sales Development Representative role at Ascent Cloud focuses on generating leads, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling meetings for Account Executives, with a 12-18 month bootcamp that advances toward an AE role with commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Support Account Executives by generating leads and educating prospects about Ascent Cloud offerings.
  • Achieve quota by qualifying opportunities and setting meetings for the AE team.
  • Complete onboarding within the first week.
  • Communicate the Ascent Cloud value story and the rationale behind our solutions.
  • Identify ideal target companies and understand what core buying teams care about.
  • Identify, nurture, and qualify inbound leads.
  • Perfect your call opening.
  • Proficient in cold emails and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Set up and leverage core tools with basic proficiency (Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn).
  • Maintain a productive daily schedule and workflows to maximize output.
  • Respond to website chat in under five minutes.
  • Continuously learn through self-study, manager feedback, and supplied materials.
  • Meet required activity and performance targets.
  • Keep pace with peers in calling and email activity.
  • Personalize emails at scale while balancing quality and quantity.
  • Navigate common objections by phone and email.
  • Use basic video messaging to improve email reply rates.
  • Retain and tell three distinctive customer stories from memory.
  • Achieve full mastery of website chat with fast, accurate responses.
  • Demonstrate process discipline and proficiency with the technology stack.
  • Keep Salesforce up to date with daily notes.
  • Implement a process to ensure 80% or more of booked meetings show up and meet minimum qualifications.
  • Engage multiple contacts and personas across buyer teams (multithreading).

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience is a plus but not required.
  • Passion for a career in software sales.
  • Sense of urgency to hit targets and openness to feedback for improvement.
  • High resilience; comfortable with rejection.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter; owns your book of business and holds yourself accountable for effort and results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliable follow-through.
  • Interest in the Salesforce platform and AppExchange.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with SalesLoft or similar sales technology is a plus.
