Sales Director, Personal Care
Job Description
PLZ Corp in Riverside, CA with remote work options seeks a Personal Care Solutions Sales Director to lead commercial efforts for assigned customers, shape key account and pricing strategies, and build new pipelines through cross-functional collaboration and travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement key account and division plans to hit annual operating budgets and take remedial actions to meet gross margin commitments
- Build and maintain a growth and margin opportunity pipeline for existing and new customers, continually adding, pruning, and reprioritizing initiatives
- Partner with R&D to create outbound innovation plans for selected customers and present these plans with strategic selling materials
- Collaborate with Procurement and Manufacturing to plan capacity, provide monthly input to Supply Inventory Operations & Planning, and develop ad hoc plans to address supply/demand gaps
- Work with the Product Strategy Director to leverage PLZ personal care knowledge for customer sales presentations
- Coordinate with the Project Leadership team to communicate customer requirements to internal stakeholders and explain PLZ capabilities and timelines to customers
- Provide periodic progress updates to leadership against plans
- Operate as a senior customer management leader, engaging across internal teams and with senior leaders and executives
- Other responsibilities as directed to meet business needs
- Travel by car and air approximately 20%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of sales management and leadership experience spanning large ($500M+) organizations and smaller, high-growth companies
- Experience in consumer packaged goods and make-to-order selling is required
- Knowledge of Personal Care and contract manufacturing industries is preferred
- Strong customer management and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage ongoing change to drive sustained growth and margin improvement
- Strategic thinker with proven problem-solving abilities
- Results-oriented, data-driven mindset with solid business acumen
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to synthesize information for cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Proven ability to work effectively in diverse, multi-location environments, including remote setups, and to operate independently
- Ability to engage, influence, and collaborate across functions
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with peers and colleagues
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong task prioritization

- West Coast United States location preferred

Compensation
- Base pay ranges from USD 130,000 per year in the lowest geographic market to USD 160,000 per year in the highest geographic market; pay is influenced by market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
