Senior Sales Manager
Job Description
Marriott International, Inc invites a Senior Sales Manager to join the Denver market, working onsite to drive revenue and cultivate key partnerships. In this role, you will proactively solicit business, manage large opportunities with substantial revenue potential, and lead opportunities to maximize revenue through strategic upselling while building durable relationships that expand the account base.
Responsibilities
- Proactively seek new business opportunities and manage large, high-revenue opportunities.
- Handle sizable group segments and other opportunities with significant revenue potential.
- Consistently upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue for individual properties.
- Align each customer profile with the most suitable product or package.
- Meet personal and team revenue targets.
- Ensure proper handoffs to service delivery in line with brand standards.
- Create opportunities to grow the account base through ongoing customer interactions.
- Target accounts and segments with strong upside and potential for account saturation.
- Partner with counterparts to effectively manage each business opportunity.
- Respond to and manage larger and more complex inbound opportunities for the property.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business to achieve revenue goals.
- Focus efforts on accounts with significant sales potential.
- Develop effective sales plans and actionable steps.
- Collaborate with partners to craft creative proposals for events.
- Maximize revenue by upselling bundled packages.
- Understand the market landscape, including competitors, trends, and demand, and apply this knowledge to selling strategies.
- Close opportunities based on market conditions and property needs.
- Use negotiation and creative selling to close contracts.
- Handle complex business with substantial revenue potential and high customer expectations.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings, including sales calls, entertainment, familiarization trips, and trade shows.
- Develop relationships within the community to broaden the sales pipeline.
- Provide excellent customer service to grow share of the account.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize the intranet for resources, templates, and information.
- Participate in site visits.
- Develop and facilitate execution of contracts as required.
- Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business, such as generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.
- Follow the brand’s Customer Service Standards and the property’s Brand Standards throughout the sales process.
Requirements
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 5 years of sales and marketing or related experience; OR
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 3 years of sales and marketing or related experience.
