Sr. Home Loan Officer - Business Development
Job Description
GESA CREDIT UNION is seeking a Sr. Home Loan Officer - Business Development to support mortgage lending by generating qualified leads, strengthening referral relationships, and assisting members with residential lending needs. This onsite role in Richland, WA focuses on loan origination, credit decisioning within policy, and maintaining confidentiality and professional standards while building production through outside sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet the minimum established individual goals each month.
- Conduct in-person calls to real estate agents and brokers, financial advisors, builders, and other referral sources to develop borrower leads.
- Meet prospective clients at locations outside of Gesa as needed, with significant time spent in the market generating business.
- Attend open houses and other industry events as needed.
- Perform the loan origination function thoroughly and completely while following Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Ensure approved loans comply with applicable regulations and established loan standards, with zero errors.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly environment for members and co-workers.
- Maintain working knowledge of mortgage products and rates across both Credit Union and industry offerings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
- Interview members for residential mortgage loans, explain financing and mortgage programs and their requirements, and communicate results of preliminary financial analysis.
- Calculate loan estimates, monitor loan status, and process loans in a timely manner.
- Understand and perform applicable Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions.
- Attend Credit Union training sessions, conferences, and seminars as approved by supervisor, and maintain awareness of related policies and regulations.
- Build positive community and real estate relationships to increase loan sales production, and promptly report actionable concerns to a supervisor.
- Control risk and perform duties in a safe and sound manner, while maintaining and protecting sensitive data with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Three (3) to five (5) years of similar or related experience; mortgage lending experience desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent completion of specialized course of study, training, and experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Obtain and maintain a valid NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identification (MLO) Number.
- A valid Driver’s License is required.
- Independent travel is required to achieve training and business objectives.
- Ability to multi-task on numerous projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Ability to make quality, timely decisions with extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and promote a productive work environment.
- Demonstrate mutual respect, trust, and dignity, and act in the best interest of the Credit Union.

Compensation & Employment Details
- Salary Range: USD 45,760 - 350,000 per yearly (Base/Commission)
- Selected candidate(s) must be able to pass a pre-employment credit/background check.
