Job Description
This on-site role based in Ohio centers on technical business development and service delivery for flow measurement and remote monitoring systems. The position focuses on identifying new opportunities, cultivating customer relationships, and guiding projects from proposal to completion, including field installation, calibration, commissioning, and ongoing service. Customer work spans the Oil and Gas, Salt Water Disposal, Water and Wastewater, and Municipal sectors.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development.
- Assess customer needs and propose technical solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Generate new project opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
- Prepare quotations, project proposals, and scopes of work documentation.
- Nurture long-term customer relationships through exceptional service and regular follow-up.
- Meet or exceed established sales and business development targets.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows when appropriate.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular updates on opportunities, forecasts, and customer activity.
- Manage projects from initial customer contact through installation, commissioning, and final acceptance.
- Coordinate scheduling, equipment, materials, and customer communication throughout each project.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
- Identify and resolve project challenges proactively.
- Communicate project status internally and externally to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Draft project proposals, change orders, and required project documentation.
- Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and service flow meters and remote monitoring systems.
- Perform field hardware installations for new and existing customers.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to communication, instrumentation, networking, and control systems.
- Commission new systems and verify proper operation.
- Provide preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a strong understanding of flow measurement technologies, telemetry systems, and related equipment.
- Develop working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems with a willingness to expand technical expertise.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while building long-term partnerships.
- Provide timely communication regarding project progress, technical issues, and recommendations.
- Maintain sufficient truck inventory and manage company-issued tools and equipment.
- Submit accurate service reports, project documentation, timesheets, expense reports, and sales activity reports.
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment in excellent condition.
- Participate in required safety meetings and ongoing technical training.
- Contribute ideas that improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and company growth.
Requirements
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Approximately 90% travel throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
