This onsite position is based in Birmingham, AL and centers on expanding hospital-network opportunities within Abbott’s infectious disease diagnostics portfolio. Compensation ranges from $68,000 to $136,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

Identify and engage accounts with no current business activity
Develop and implement territory strategies to generate leads, qualify prospects, and convert opportunities
Gain deep knowledge of the territory and use data tools to plan effectively
Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to contract close
Maintain up-to-date competitive product knowledge
Ensure opportunities originate within the defined territory
Conduct cold outreach to gain access in competitive accounts and generate interest with healthcare professionals and administrative stakeholders, presenting the value of infectious disease diagnostics
Open doors and position Abbott as the preferred diagnostic partner for point-of-care testing
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Technical Service, Finance, Contracts and Pricing to deliver a cohesive customer experience
Build and sustain strong relationships with distribution representatives in the territory
Work consistently with distribution partners to drive Abbott’s Infectious Disease portfolio
Oversee a successful account handoff after initial selling and coordinate with the local team to ensure smooth implementation

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of proven success in relevant sales experience
Track record of converting competitive leads from generation to close
Experience as an individual contributor with strong problem-solving, complex selling, planning, and execution skills
Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, approximately four days per week up to 50%
