Area Sales Manager
Job Description
The Area Sales Manager role for HHM Hotels (NYC Corporate) focuses on managing a portfolio of hotel accounts, driving revenue growth, and pursuing both existing and new business within a hybrid in-office/remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a cluster of hotels and maximize revenue by selling all facets of the properties to existing, past, and prospective clients.
- Manage business transient and group opportunities, ensuring solicitation and closing steps are completed and properly documented.
- Actively solicit corporations for inclusion in their hotel travel program through personal calls, site inspections, tele-prospecting and email-prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned territories.
- Negotiate, contract, and monitor account agreements and productivity. Ensure rates committed are competitive and yield maximum profitability, including annual rate negotiations for renewals and ongoing acquisition of new accounts and group business in all terms.
- Build and maintain consistent volume from existing corporate accounts and travel agents; sustain good relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement officers, business travel agents, and other decision makers and influencers.
- Participate in trade shows and industry functions as directed.
- Create strategic sales action plans addressing the direct needs of the segment and the hotel.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience within the hotel industry; business travel experience is preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.

Compensation
Compensation: USD 85,000 - 90,000 per year

Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and may include occasional holidays and weekends.
- Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard.
