Business Development Associate - Bilingual in Chinese
Job Description
Universal Processing is hiring a fully onsite Business Development Associate in Chicago, IL, serving as a first point of contact for clients and supporting new business growth.
Responsibilities
- Generate new opportunities by gathering leads, making cold calls, and scheduling appointments
- Have direct conversations with small-to-medium-sized business owners by presenting products and services
- Collect key business details including business name, address, current marketing strategies, payment method, sales volume, and current pricing
- Enter lead information into databases to support sales operations
- Request credit card processing statements for pricing analysis and to understand business financial situations
- Perform client follow-up to maintain engagement and advance business opportunities
- Manage the business pipeline and develop a payment strategy aimed at long-term success
- Work to meet and exceed sales targets as required
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire (Universal Processing is an E-Verify employer)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin-Chinese required
- Ability to read and write in both English and Mandarin-Chinese
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or a related field
- Previous sales or customer service experience preferred, not required
- Strong skills in communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, and analysis
- Able to speak confidently on the phone and connect with prospects
- Aptitude for learning with drive to develop negotiation and sales skills

Compensation
- Non-exempt position
- $23.50/hour base rate during the probationary period
- $26.00/hour base rate after successful completion of the probationary period
Role Summary
- Fully onsite role in Chicago, IL
- 5 days a week schedule
- First point of contact for clients as part of the sales department
- Acts as a brand ambassador by introducing the business solutions provided by the company
