Business Development Coordinator - Bilingual - Spanish
Job Description
A Bettendorf, IA based credit union is seeking a bilingual Spanish-speaking Business Development Coordinator to strengthen community ties, support financial wellness, and nurture member relationships. This onsite role serves as a front-line resource for opening accounts, onboarding members, assisting with lending, and generating new leads.

Responsibilities
- Attend community events with the outreach team to promote the credit union's mission, products, and services.
- Participate in internal meetings and contribute ideas to expand outreach initiatives.
- Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion projects and meetings as needed.
- Plan and coordinate community functions and events to increase membership and build relationships.
- Coordinate the planning and follow up of financial education activities and community events.
- Create, review, and update translations of marketing materials, brochures, and related content.
- Maintain tracking measures and reports on development efforts, sales, and events.
- Research competitor activities and market trends as assigned.
- Maintain comprehensive product knowledge to inform members effectively.
- Provide sound financial coaching to members.
- Open and close accounts.
- Analyze credit reports and educate members about their reports.
- Receive and review loan and account applications; refer additional products and services to members.
- Ensure all required documentation is collected before loan or product completion.
- Disperse loan proceeds.
- Collaborate with underwriting, loan servicing, compliance, and operations to follow Federal regulatory guidelines and lending authority per policy.
- Clearly communicate loan and account decisions to members.
- Apply critical thinking to identify potential fraudulent activity and take preventive measures.
- Produce and archive documents accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain proactive communication with supervisors, plan goals and development, and strive for excellence.
- Promote products and services to members.
- Attend required meetings and maintain a professional work environment.
- Foster positive public relations and promote the credit union within the community.
- Complete required educational programs.
- Uphold commitments of service to each member, including proper greeting, attentive listening, respectful communication, and problem resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in business, communications, sales, finance, marketing, or a related field.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for events.
- One to three years of experience in community or business development.
- One to three years of experience in sales and customer service.
- One to three years of lending experience.
- Presenting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge or ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to sell and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Professional, pleasant, and outgoing personality.
- Ability to perform under pressure and solve problems.
- Team player with sound decision-making abilities.
