Job Description

Manitoulin Global Forwarding is seeking a results oriented Business Development Manager who specializes in outside sales and international logistics. This role focuses on expanding the client base and driving sales growth across MGFs international logistics portfolio. The position is based onsite in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and engage potential clients within the logistics sector, including manufacturers, distributors and retailers.
  • Leverage an entrepreneurial mindset to proactively identify new business opportunities and foster innovation.
  • Draft and execute a comprehensive business development plan to grow the sales pipeline and achieve targets.
  • Grow and nurture leads from within the MGF network and from international partners.
  • Perform market research to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics and potential opportunities.
  • Deliver sales presentations, negotiate, and prepare proposals tailored to client needs, highlighting service benefits.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, market trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the international logistics and transportation sector.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets with a focus on new business growth.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex supply chain solutions to clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Strategic thinker with deep understanding of air and ocean logistics, market dynamics, and customer needs.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track pipeline activity.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • English and Spanish bilingualism is an asset.
