Hybrid role in Rutherford, NJ with a salary of USD 156,668 per year and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. This Business Development Manager position helps drive growth by acquiring new business and expanding customer base and market share.

What you’ll do

  • Define, communicate, and execute Genpro’s business development strategy to expand the customer base and market share.
  • Establish sales goals, KPIs, and incentive structures to drive accountability and performance.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align business development objectives with broader company strategy.
  • Lead prospecting, lead generation, and outreach efforts to build consistent pipeline growth.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure strategic accounts within target industries.
  • Use market intelligence and industry insights to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Personally engage with high-value prospects and close marquee accounts.
  • Represent Genpro in the marketplace by cultivating executive-level relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent Genpro at trade shows, industry events, and networking forums to support visibility and brand positioning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients with innovative, tailored freight and logistics solutions.
  • Track, measure, and report business development performance to the CEO.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies, improve conversion rates, and enhance team productivity.
  • Incorporate market feedback and evolving customer needs to continuously improve Genpro’s value proposition.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success building and leading high-performing new business sales teams and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Deep understanding of transportation brokerage operations, freight markets, and supply chain logistics.
  • Strong executive presence, motivational leadership, and ability to influence across organizational levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build go-to-market strategies and drive execution.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, pipeline management tools, and sales analytics.
