Business Development / Proposal Manager
Job Description
This Business Development / Proposal Manager role supports CPZ Architects, Inc. by owning the end-to-end pursuit and proposal process for architectural services.
Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and submission of RFQs, RFPs, and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for architectural services
- Manage the full proposal lifecycle: opportunity tracking, scheduling, coordination, writing, editing, and final production
- Facilitate go/no-go meetings with leadership to evaluate pursuit opportunities
- Develop and maintain proposal schedules and compliance checklists to ensure submission requirements are met
- Coordinate with principals, project managers, and consultants to gather technical content
- Write and edit proposal narratives covering:
- Firm qualifications
- Project approaches
- Relevant experience
- Key personnel qualifications
- Maintain and update project sheets, resumes, and firm marketing collateral
- Ensure proposal messaging clearly communicates the firm’s design strengths, project experience, and differentiators
- Develop visually compelling proposals using graphic design and layout best practices
- Produce proposal documents in Adobe InDesign and related tools
- Create diagrams, charts, and graphics that communicate project experience and methodology
- Maintain consistent branding and graphic standards across marketing materials
- Track upcoming opportunities using procurement platforms:
- DemandStar
- Onvia / GovWin
- Local government procurement portals
- Maintain the firm’s proposal database and marketing assets
- Support interview preparation, including presentation development and rehearsal coordination
- Assist with website updates, award submissions, and other marketing initiatives
- Partner with firm leadership, project managers, and business development staff to align marketing strategy with firm growth goals
- Coordinate with external consultants and teaming partners for joint submissions
Requirements
- 5+ years of marketing or proposal management experience in the AEC industry
- Demonstrated experience preparing RFQs and RFPs for architectural or engineering services
- Strong technical writing and editing skills
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple proposal deadlines simultaneously

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (onsite) | Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 per year | Experience: 5+ years
