Job Description

Pathway2Careers (P2C) is hiring a Business Development Representative to help grow relationships across the K–12 education space. Based in Maryville, TN, the role focuses on prospecting and qualifying school district and education leader leads, while supporting Regional Sales Managers with both outbound and inbound activity. You will also spend an initial in-person period for 6 months, with the possibility of moving to hybrid after that.

What you’ll do

  • Support 2–3 Regional Sales Managers by prospecting target accounts and booking qualified meetings
  • Research and identify target school districts, state agencies, and other education stakeholders in assigned regions
  • Generate and qualify leads through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and inbound follow-up
  • Represent P2C at regional conferences, trade shows, and education events to generate leads and strengthen relationships
  • Serve as a client-facing ambassador, communicating P2C’s value proposition to educators and administrators
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers on target accounts, messaging, and outreach strategies
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of outreach, conversations, and meetings in HubSpot
  • Complete pre- and post-event outreach to maximize ROI from conferences and convenings
  • Stay current on K–12 education trends, workforce readiness initiatives, and competitor offerings
  • Work toward monthly and quarterly goals for meetings booked, qualified leads, and pipeline contribution
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or something similar
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or sales support role
  • Comfort with outbound calling and engaging prospects by email and phone
  • Comfort traveling by car, airplane, or other methods, including short and long distances within the U.S.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Confident communication with educators, administrators, and district leaders
  • Collaborative team mindset and interest in supporting shared goals
  • Curious, coachable, and motivated to grow in sales and business development
  • Interest in education and workforce readiness, with a focus on connecting learning to careers

Physical requirements and work location

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
  • Must be able to spend long periods of time in a car or plane
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance
  • Work location: In person
