Job Description

SCP Distributors LLC offers a customer-facing role built around growth, relationship building, and clear activity goals. Location: Santa Rosa, CA (onsite)
Pay: $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus annual bonus opportunities, company vehicle, benefits, and more
Experience: 2+ years in professional B2B sales

What you’ll do

  • Build a territory strategy to increase sales and profits across key, opportunity, new, and existing customer segments.
  • Prospect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research, then follow up on qualified leads.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships by understanding customer needs and supporting their business as a go-to advisor.
  • Plan and execute a minimum number of daily scheduled sales calls with defined objectives for your book of business.
  • Travel within the designated territory to deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, proactively providing solutions.
  • Negotiate terms, close sales, and support customers post-sale, including addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Coordinate sales activities with corporate marketing initiatives and incentives.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand the customer base and stay aligned with market trends.
  • Provide quotes and product data promptly and accurately.
  • Partner with POOLCORP Sales Center, Region and Division leadership, and vendor representatives to achieve individual and broader goals.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM, completing reports and call records in a timely fashion.
  • Stay current on competitor activity, market conditions, and industry trends through ongoing research and analysis.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • At least 2 years of professional-level business-to-business sales experience.
  • Proven success selling in a wholesale distribution environment.
  • Ability to cold call prospective clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Knowledge of industry products and distribution processes.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of one or more product lines such as pool-related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft CE or other CRM, and the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with Prelude or similar inventory management software is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years) and willingness to travel regularly within a designated area.
  • Occasional ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds at the Sales Center or on a customer site.
