Business Development Specialist
Job Description
Logan Simpson seeks a seasoned Business Development Specialist to advance market intelligence, opportunity tracking, and support for service line leaders. This regular full-time role offers hybrid work across Arizona, Colorado, and Utah, centered in Phoenix, with an emphasis on building client and teaming partner relationships to propel the firm’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist business development efforts in line with the firm’s strategic objectives, conducting market intelligence, tracking opportunities, and shaping pursuit plans.
- Maintain and expand relationships with clients and teaming partners through ongoing communication, meeting coordination, and timely follow-up.
- Record BD activities and results in the firm’s CRM or pursuit-tracking tools.
- Collaborate with service line leaders to define and deliver BD tasks at the operational level.
- Support and uphold the firm’s branding efforts and both internal and external communications.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, teaming partners, and vendors while pursuing new connections to reveal untapped opportunities.
- Provide proposal development support to the Marketing Team.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of related experience in BD, proposal development, or similar roles, preferably in the consulting and/or Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
- Familiarity with federal, state, tribal, and local government procurement.
- Strong research, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to distill information into concise summaries for service line leads.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, multitasking, and adapting to changing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Comfort collaborating across multiple service lines and offices.
- Willingness to travel to conferences and client meetings as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
