Business Development Specialist
Job Description
The Business Development Specialist role at EECU in Fort Worth, onsite, supports the Business Development Management and Community Events & Sponsorship Management teams. The position focuses on cultivating relationships with schools, community partners, and SEGs while coordinating events and sponsorships to raise the credit union’s visibility across the Dallas and Collin County area.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication and relationship management plans to establish and deepen strategic partnerships with schools, community partners, and SEGs.
- Provide timely reports on the outcomes of business development efforts and propose adjustments as needed.
- Attend approved meetings, events, education seminars, and related activities to strengthen partner relationships and increase brand, product, and service awareness.
- Track the effectiveness of activities and ensure lead opportunities are routed for follow-up.
- Identify, prioritize, and carry out events that support strategic initiatives, such as Shred Days and Financial Literacy Seminars.
- Take the lead in planning and directing events.
- Serve as project leaders responsible for oversight, budgeting, promotion, and execution of events.
- Monitor event impact and ensure follow-up on lead opportunities.
- Educate current and potential schools, community partners, and SEGs about the benefits of credit union affiliation and available products and services.
- Maintain a calendar of events and sponsorships, outlining responsibilities and timelines to develop cost-conscious event plans with optimal results.
- Implement external and internal communication plans to raise awareness of school and community activities and other credit union initiatives.
- Assist the marketing department with projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least one year of experience in Business Development, Public Relations, Project Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
- Ability to travel up to 60 percent within the Dallas/Collin County area and 40 percent in Fort Worth/general North Texas to meet clients, attend meetings, and support field operations.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and insurability.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the ability to work nights and weekends to attend meetings, events, and support field locations.
What You'll Do
- Execute communication and relationship management plans to create and deepen strategic partnerships with schools, community partners, and SEGs.
- Provide timely results reports on business development initiatives and recommend modifications as needed.
- Under the direction of the Director, Schools & Community Relations, participate in approved meetings, events, and educational seminars to strengthen partner relationships and raise awareness of the credit union's offerings.
- Monitor the effectiveness of activities and ensure lead opportunities are distributed for follow-up.
- Identify and prioritize events that support strategic initiatives, including Shred Days and Financial Literacy Seminars.
- Lead the orchestration and direction of events.
- Act as project leader responsible for oversight, budgeting, promotion, and execution of events.

What We’re Looking For
