Business Development Specialist
Job Description
The Business Development Specialist role supports new account growth and delivers sales support across assigned accounts. This position also serves as primary backup sales support for Customer Business Specialists and Branch Management.

Role Overview
Develop sales activity for new accounts and provide ongoing sales support for existing customers. Direct internal and external resources to meet or exceed customer expectations, including active involvement in discovery conversations, product promotion, and account retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal and external resources to meet or exceed new and assigned customer expectations.
- Interview callers and assigned customers to determine product and service needs.
- Develop and promote product sales for new accounts and expand additional sales for existing accounts.
- Promote and sell Heilind services, including value-added enhancements, programs, automation, and E-store.
- Persuade or influence new and existing customers to purchase Heilind products and services.
- Keep new and assigned accounts satisfied by selling products and services, administering accurate and timely process transactions, building strong working relationships, and responding to customer phone calls, emails, letters, and faxes in a timely, effective, and professional manner.
- Develop and execute quoting strategies in collaboration with Customer Business Managers, Sales Management, and Product Management.
- Negotiate product pricing, returns, and credits with new and assigned customers.
- Determine and negotiate delivery methods and time frames with new and assigned customers.
- Support Customer Business Managers to solidify business at assigned accounts.
- Provide sales administrative and backup support for other Sales team members.
- Work independently or in cooperation with Customer Business Specialist, Customer Business Manager, and Branch Management for assigned accounts.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- Or a minimum of 2+ years of related experience in industrial sales
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Person (ITAR): This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR. Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
- Ability to report to the assigned office location in Lumberton, NJ during scheduled in-office workdays.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with sales tracking software such as OPTRAK or Dem ID.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work.
- Often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, and use telephones.
- Interacts with clients, co-workers, and customers using written and oral communication.
- Close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
