The role leads customer service and sales teams within a manufacturing environment, focusing on growth, customer relationship management, and aligning client needs with production capabilities.

Overview

Lead and manage customer service and sales teams in a manufacturing setting to drive growth, manage customer relationships, and align customer needs with manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the customer service and sales teams to achieve company objectives
  • Create and execute strategic sales plans to support growth goals
  • Build and sustain robust customer relationships
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain satisfaction
  • Assess market trends, client needs, pricing, and margin opportunities
  • Enhance product knowledge to align client requirements with manufacturing capabilities
  • Manage staffing, training, scheduling, and performance reviews for department staff
  • Deliver sales presentations and conduct client visits to preserve and expand relationships
  • Generate sales reports covering volumes, forecasts, and expansion opportunities
  • Track competitor pricing, products, and market dynamics
  • Evaluate unprofitable items and collaborate with production leadership on improvement recommendations
  • Aid process improvement efforts and departmental efficiency initiatives
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and clear communication across the organization

Requirements

  • At least five years of manufacturing experience
  • At least three years in customer service or sales management
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-development abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and customer relationship management proficiency
  • Experience with sales planning, forecasting, and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer service software
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
