Position Summary
The Director of Business Development identifies, develops, and closes new business opportunities while broadening the company's dealer network and market presence.
Responsibilities
- Craft and execute a growth plan for the assigned territory
- Identify and onboard new dealer partnerships
- Open new builder, contractor, and commercial accounts
- Increase market share across the territory
- Build relationships with architects and designers
- Create specification opportunities for Timberland products
- Spot high-potential growth opportunities
- Develop long-range account plans
- Grow revenue within existing accounts
- Foster executive-level customer relationships
- Discover new geographic opportunities
- Build and manage channel partnerships
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
- Relay market feedback to leadership
- Identify product opportunities
- Track competitive activity
- Support leadership on market positioning initiatives
Requirements
- At least 3 years of business development experience
- Experience selling doors, millwork, windows, building products, architectural products, construction products, or related industries
- Proven history of opening new accounts
- Demonstrated success growing territory revenue
- Strong network within the building products industry
- Ability to travel across assigned markets
