Job Description
The Electrical Services Manager with Business Development expertise leads InPwr's service operations in the Indianapolis area, overseeing scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and primary customer interactions to ensure quality and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversees project finances, confirms planning and layout are applied where required, identifies risks and obstacles for each work order, and allocates essential resources to minimize financial slippage.
- Administers the service technician gainshare compensation program.
- Oversees van stock setup and organization, and supervises the procurement and tracking of materials.
- Early detection of issues with stakeholders informed to safeguard installation quality and financial interests.
- Schedules and conducts post-mortem reviews with the appropriate team on projects that deviate 5 to 10 percent from expected margins to prevent recurrence of mistakes and promote repeatable best practices.
- Reviews weekly work orders for each technician and client to identify installation trends and overall satisfaction.
- Reviews and approves submittals with the account manager before requesting client approval.
- Ensures customer satisfaction and actively solicits feedback from all service customers and sites with ongoing presence.
- Coordinates job scheduling and site compliance through communication with customers and technicians.
- Ensures project schedules meet the customer’s time goals.
- Provides support for design-build activities when requested by customers.
- Delivers accurate information to support proper project initialization and close-out.
- Ensures that all permits, licenses, and inspection filings are completed.
- Schedules weekly activities for all assigned personnel.
- Identifies material requirements for projects and coordinates with procurement to ensure timely material delivery.
- Assists personnel with on-site problems when necessary.
- Prepares project status reports and schedules as applicable.
- Estimates and submits change orders to the owner and expedites all change order requests.
- Ensures timely completion of punch list items.
- Ensures timely submission of accurate as-built drawings where applicable.
- Responds promptly to employee concerns.
- Reviews field reports and paperwork for accuracy prior to submission to data entry.
- Attends project meetings as required.
- Supports general business development activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Construction Management degree preferred, or two years of technical training.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a senior technician role, with prior field experience required.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Background in electrical estimating.
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Experience managing and scheduling multiple service technicians and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Residence in Indianapolis, IN or surrounding counties, with ability to work in the area.

Working Conditions
- This position combines office work with regular visits to construction sites.
- Work may occur in all elements depending on location and season, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Must be able to use construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
- Required to wear personal protective equipment, including hard hat and safety glasses at all times, and respirator when required.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Typical schedule is 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as needed.
- Work may occur inside and outside the premises.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- This role is stationary at times and requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional lifting and moving up to 15 pounds.
- Employee must be physically capable of performing essential job functions and conduct site visits to provide estimates.
