Fire Sales Manager
Job Description
Johnson Controls is hiring an onsite Fire Sales Manager in New Cumberland, PA to lead a team focused on fire alarm and alternate electronic systems. In this role, you’ll shape strategy and team development across new construction, plan and specification retrofit, and owner sales, with a direct impact on strengthening Electronic Life Safety Systems and expanding recurring service revenue.

What you’ll be responsible for
- Lead the day-to-day performance of the district or branch construction and owner/core sales team for fire alarm and alternate electronic systems businesses.
- Set territory strategy and align sellers to customer, employee, and sales goals.
- Partner with Area Sales Managers and General Managers to develop sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and execute pricing approaches that support profitable growth.
- Review sales performance regularly and adjust coverage, coaching, and resource allocation to improve results.
- Coach, develop, hire, and align a high-performing sales team.
- Build stronger relationships with owners, end users, contractors, and influencers to grow wallet share and recurring service revenue.
- Represent Johnson Controls at construction industry events and engage branch support resources to strengthen competitive position.
- Develop territory business plans covering market coverage, sales staffing, customer development, and industry relationships.
- Support key clients through joint calls, deal support, and relationship building with sales representatives.
- Expand service opportunities in the assigned district or branch territory, including moves and additions below the Solutions position.
How you’ll drive results
- Own the area’s sales outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity.
- Stay close to the work by joining customer meetings, participating in ride-alongs, and conducting deal reviews to remove obstacles quickly.
- Strengthen seller capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate across area, branch, and national leaders to share best practices and coordinate resources.
- Apply disciplined pricing, pipeline management, and market insight to support profitable growth and protect customer value.
- Lead with candor and continuous improvement so the team can learn, adapt to change, and raise execution standards.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of experience in the fire safety industry.
- Minimum of five years of sales experience, including at least three years of field sales management in a business-to-business environment, or successful management of another sales channel.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a high-volume, transaction-driven sales team.
- Experience leading projects, selling at multiple customer levels, and working effectively in team-based environments.
- Construction industry experience and a track record of developing owner relationships.
- Working knowledge of Security, Controls, and HVAC equipment, along with an understanding of the construction process.
- Ability to create practical solutions to customer needs while meeting business objectives.
- Strong communication, team-building, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
- Experience leading a team through transition or significant organizational change.
- Sound business judgment and an eye for commercial opportunity.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary range: USD 105,000 - 138,000 per year, with a bonus plan that considers individual, group, and corporate performance.
