General Sales Manager

Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor New and Used Vehicle Sales Managers to achieve performance goals.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and retain top-performing sales leaders and sales staff.
- Set and monitor monthly and annual targets for sales, gross profit, and overall performance.
- Drive profitability across all sales channels while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on forecasts, budgets, inventory strategy, and operational planning.
- Oversee vehicle inventory levels to maximize turnover and profitability.
- Ensure timely merchandising and appealing presentation of all new and used inventory.
- Develop strategies to reduce aging inventory and manage vehicle disposition.
- Review and approve vehicle appraisals and deal structures.
- Monitor used vehicle reconditioning to ensure frontline readiness.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, demographics, and sales performance to craft effective sales and advertising strategies.
- Direct dealership marketing efforts, digital merchandising, website accuracy, social media presence, and online reputation management.
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer programs, incentives, and dealership policies.
- Lead ongoing sales training through coaching, one-on-one development, and regular sales meetings.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining high satisfaction levels.
- Collaborate with the Service Department to deliver an outstanding vehicle delivery experience.
- Uphold a professional, safe, and organized dealership environment.
Requirements
- Proven track record as an Automotive General Sales Manager or a high-achieving Sales Manager ready for the next step.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-volume automotive sales teams.
- Solid knowledge of inventory management, desking, appraisals, F&I collaboration, and dealership operations.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with CDK, CRM systems, and digital retailing platforms is a plus.
- Prior exposure to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, or Hyundai brands is preferred but not required.

Pay
Salary: USD 250,000 to 350,000 per year
