Job Description
Asian Foods offers a district sales leadership role in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, onsite, with a competitive salary range of USD 104,100 – 156,100 per year. This position leads the district’s performance and coaching for Sales Consultants, driving profitable growth through a strong performance culture and targeted development of the sales team. You will manage customer engagement with technology-enabled options and team selling, backed by Sysco tools and national campaigns to support growth and brand alignment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the performance and development of Sales Consultants (SCs) within the district.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and direction by conducting an average of 3–5 SC work-withs per week.
- Lead and facilitate Friday district meetings that educate, inspire and drive key behavior changes to grow sales.
- Direct Customer Engagement efforts by enabling the district SCs to offer Sysco customers expanded service channel options, including technology enablers, value added services, and team selling.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset around technology, sales skills, soft skills, and product knowledge.
- Leverage Sales Support resources and tools to maximize consultative time for SCs.
- Fully utilize the CRM to manage SCs' sales planning, prospecting, and daily customer engagement; ensure productive use of Sysco 360 across all SCs.
- Deliver Sysco brand results and directly manage conversion opportunities within the district.
- Support and promote all national campaigns and promotions.
- Provide coaching, training, and timely feedback to develop consultative selling skills among sales associates (The Sysco Way to Sell).
- Utilize CMP and QPP processes to coach the performance of all sales colleagues in the district.
- Execute territory planning and management responsibilities.
- Prioritize independent relationships with top customers and high-value prospects.
- Champion company initiatives and implement center-led strategy within the district.
- Handle additional sales management duties and other operational responsibilities related to customer relationship management.
Requirements
- High School education required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration) or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- 2 or more years of experience successfully growing profitable sales in the foodservice industry.
- 5+ years of foodservice sales experience in the industry is preferred.
- Candidates must be bilingual in Mandarin.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to derive insights from others through probing questions and collaborative problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously.
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to use Sysco's proprietary CRM for planning and forecasting sales growth.
- Masters in consultative selling, marketing principles, prospecting, networking, coaching, and negotiations.
- Effective coaching, counseling, training and direction of associates.
- Capable of supervising and motivating others.
- Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
- Develops new business, penetrates existing accounts, and minimizes lost business to achieve profitable growth within the assigned territory.
- Sources and qualifies prospects in line with company account stratification goals.
- Researches customer needs and develops a mix of products and services to meet those needs.
- Evaluates market trends and recommends products based on business needs and goals.
- Stays informed about market conditions, product innovations, competitor offerings, prices, and sales; shares information with customers as part of value-added services.
- Answers customer questions about products, prices, availability, and use; provides product information and practical training to customer personnel.
- Communicates and collects accounts receivable as needed, coordinating with the credit department.
- Manages deliveries according to the routing schedule from the transportation department and troubleshoots order process issues.
- Participates in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events; attends district and general sales meetings.
- Reviews daily and weekly reports such as special order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit data.
- Performs administrative duties including preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining records, processing credits and pickup requests, and preparing quotes and menu suggestions.
- Participates in ongoing training sessions and assists with training new employees as requested.
