Job Description

Abbott Laboratories is hiring a Regional Sales Director to lead growth in the US Chronic Pain Therapy (CPT) market for a defined geographical region. In this onsite role in Dallas, TX, you will develop and expand Abbott’s products and services while directing a field sales force and aligning with cross-functional partners across the business.

You will oversee day-to-day sales execution, manage regional performance, and support major account relationships, all while ensuring compliance in a highly regulated, high-quality environment. The position also requires strong leadership, forecasting, and continuous process improvement to meet internal and customer requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Hire, retain, and lead a diverse, highly motivated sales staff with ongoing career coaching, growth, and personal development opportunities
  • Provide direct supervision of company sales representatives and serve as a liaison with independent sales representative firms
  • Recommend, interpret, and implement corporate, division, or organization-specific policies and procedures to meet business objectives and ensure employee compliance
  • Develop annual regional sales forecasts, support market potential determination, and participate in regional sales expense estimates
  • Maintain relationships with major accounts in the assigned region, support representatives with negotiations, and assist in deal closing
  • Contribute to the development of marketing policy, recommend product and product line revisions, and advise on pricing changes when needed
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives such as sales promotion, training, and market research, including planning and executing special projects
  • Set and achieve goals using best-in-class business practices, with a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Ensure quality of services meets or exceeds internal and external customer requirements
  • Plan and organize work, monitor performance, report status, resolve problems, and identify root causes to prevent recurrence
  • Stay current on developments in relevant fields, regulatory requirements, Abbott products, markets, objectives, and industry trends
  • Maintain a safe work environment

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor degree
  • 8 or more years of experience in medical device product areas or related discipline, including direct experience in product sales
  • Experience working in a highly regulated and high-quality system environment where compliance with governmental regulations is required
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% to 75%

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in marketing or business administration or related discipline
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams
  • Prior Neuromodulation experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of chronic pain therapy technology
  • Experience with Salesforce customer relationship management platform
  • Ability to work collaboratively, internally and externally
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team and work in a group environment, including interaction with senior and executive level leadership
  • Strong analytical skills and interpersonal strengths including influencing, negotiation, and teamwork
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Process-oriented mindset and understanding of how process supports strategy
  • Experience with digital sales tools, execution tools, and sales force automation

Compensation and location

Location: Dallas, TX (onsite)

Compensation: USD 130,600 - 240,800 per year
