Job Description

Lead revenue growth and business development for Acme Bag Company and VacQPack across North America from an onsite role in Woodland, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with company leadership to design, implement, and execute strategic sales objectives, trade plans, and distribution initiatives focused on Bulk Bags including FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) Bags and allied packaging solutions in targeted markets
  • Develop and run sales and marketing strategies, including promotional programs, pricing initiatives, and customer engagement plans aligned to revenue, volume, margin, and profitability goals
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events to strengthen brand presence, generate leads, build relationships, and identify new opportunities
  • Grow and manage a customer base by identifying prospects, conducting outreach, delivering product presentations, negotiating contracts, and closing new business
  • Perform ongoing market, customer, and competitive analysis to spot trends, pricing dynamics, product gaps, and emerging opportunities, then refine sales strategy and performance
  • Use data, insights, and reporting tools to create strategic account plans, sales presentations, business reviews, and opportunity analyses for informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams (leadership, procurement, operations, logistics) and external partners and suppliers to support alignment and smooth execution
  • Maintain execution discipline through detailed follow-through, timely commitments, and proactive customer and internal follow-up
  • Partner with USA and India procurement teams to develop and customize customer product platforms, ensuring specifications, quality standards, pricing structures, and supply chain requirements are met
  • Utilize CRM and sales management software to manage relationships, track pipeline activity, monitor sales performance, forecast demand, and analyze KPIs
  • Provide inputs to annual forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning with accurate sales projections, market intelligence, and revenue analysis
  • Lead VacQPack Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) growth across the United States and Canada by identifying, pursuing, and converting new business opportunities in targeted industries and applications
  • Prospect, develop, and manage opportunities across food ingredient, nut, seed, grain, agricultural commodity, and related food processing sectors, building relationships with key decision-makers
  • Use consultative, solution-selling to align VacQPack recommendations to customer operations and challenges, supporting needs such as food safety, product quality, insect control, shelf-life extension, storage stability, moisture protection, oxidation prevention, and value preservation
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for VacQPack customers across North America, ensuring responsiveness and coordination with the U.S. team, with reporting to the VacQPack Commercial Director for VacQPack activities
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships centered on recurring consumable sales, customer retention, account growth, and adoption of VacQPack technologies and services
  • Identify and develop MAP opportunities within customer projects and operations by incorporating MAP solutions into project specifications, bids, proposals, and packaging strategies where measurable operational and financial benefits apply
  • Educate customers on VacQPack products and technologies using presentations, demonstrations, technical discussions, and consultative sales engagements to support adoption and long-term success
  • Lead customers through sales and implementation steps including product demonstrations, field evaluations, technical trials, validation testing, project implementation, onboarding, and post-installation support at customer sites and the VacQPack Demo Center in Woodland, CA
  • Develop value propositions focused on ROI, total cost of ownership, product protection, waste reduction, quality preservation, and operational efficiencies, positioning solutions on value rather than price alone
  • Prepare accurate pricing, quotations, proposals, and business cases aligned with company profitability targets while meeting customer requirements
  • Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline in CRM, tracking opportunities, customer activity, project status, forecasts, and performance metrics with regular leadership updates
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support VacQPack long-term business objectives and identify strategic growth opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Packaging, or a related field
  • Travel approximately 30% throughout the United States and Canada
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience in the packaging industry, with strong preference for experience in FIBC, bulk bags, flexible packaging, and/or Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) solutions
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through new business development, strategic account management, market expansion, and long-term customer relationship development
  • Strong understanding of industrial, agricultural, food ingredient, food processing, packaging, and related supply chain markets
  • Demonstrated success managing the full sales cycle (prospecting, qualification, solution development, negotiation, contract execution, and account growth)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Consultative, solution-oriented sales approach translating technical products and services into business value
  • Entrepreneurial mindset for developing new markets, creating opportunities, and building segments from the ground up
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and accounts
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills for evaluating market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer opportunities
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Experience or affinity with agricultural commodities, food ingredients, nuts, seeds, grains, bulk packaging, food safety, storage, shelf-life extension, or post-harvest quality preservation is highly desirable

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel (up to 30%) including driving, flights, and overnight stays to visit customer accounts
  • Ability to spend long hours on the road or in customer meetings
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods during travel and customer visits
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 35 lbs occasionally (examples: samples, promotional materials, product literature)
  • Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively in person and via phone or video conferencing
  • Capable of operating a personal or company-provided vehicle safely
  • Comfortable with occasional walking or moving around warehouses, production facilities, or trade shows during customer visits

Pay

  • $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
