Job Description

Join Vacation & Travel Group in Orlando as a Sales Director for OPC/Events. You will own the field strategy for the national event circuit and lead a team of elite reps at major festivals, sporting events, and expos to turn high-traffic moments into strong revenue. This role offers a competitive compensation package in the range of $120,000 to $180,000, plus performance-based bonuses through an on-target earnings structure. You will operate onsite with autonomy, supported by premium venues and logistics, and have a clear path for growth as our event calendar expands. Expect travel to on-site activations up to 75 to 90 percent of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue: Own the P&L for event sales performance and lead the team to meet or exceed package-sale targets.
  • Elite Coaching: Refine scripts, pitch styles, and closing techniques in real time on the event floor, leading from the front.
  • Strategic Deployment: Manage booth logistics and team positioning at premium locations to maximize prospect engagement.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Identify, onboard, and retain top talent capable of navigating a 1099 travel lifestyle.
  • Operational Excellence: Report KPIs, lead quality, and event ROI to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Proven Leadership: 3–5+ years in Sales Management or Assistant Manager roles within OPC, Timeshare, or Vacation Package sales.
  • The Closer DNA: Ability to step into any booth and demonstrate effective closing techniques to support struggling reps.
  • Logistics Savvy: Experience managing 1099 sales teams and the unique challenges of mobile, event-based operations.
  • Recruiting Prowess: A proven network of reps or a knack for spotting talent in a crowd.
  • Travel Readiness: Availability to travel 75–90 percent of the time to lead on-site at major national activations.

Benefits

  • OTE: Compensation in the $120,000–$180,000+ range with base pay or draw plus overrides on total team production.
  • Uncapped Growth: The event calendar is expanding, so your income scales with the team’s growth.
  • Weekly Performance Bonuses: Rewards based on team volume and package-to-tour conversion metrics.
  • Autonomy: We provide the machine—premium venues and logistics—while you drive talent and strategy.
  • Flexible Schedule: Adaptable planning to support field leadership across national activations.

The ideal candidate

You are a people architect who understands the grind of OPC sales and knows how to sustain peak energy from Friday morning through Sunday night. Office politics are not your scene; you prefer being on the floor at events such as boat shows or music festivals, driving results and breaking records.

How to apply

  • Your leadership history: how many reps you have managed simultaneously.
  • Your proudest turnaround story: how you took a low-performing event or team and made it profitable.
  • Confirmation of your ability to travel and work a national event schedule.
