Job Description

The Sales Manager role at Remington Hospitality in Dallas, TX is an onsite position focused on maximizing occupancy and room revenue by aligning sales efforts with hotel operations to boost profitability through proactive business development and aggressive solicitation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an assertive outreach program that combines outside sales calls, inside appointments, phone conversations, personalized letters, and direct mail; approximately 80 percent of time should be devoted to active sales solicitation.
  • Support the Director of Sales in drafting the annual marketing plan, including action plans for assigned market segments.
  • Dispatch proposals for leads matching the property's profile and actively pursue conversion from proposal to definite status; send proposals and confirmations to clients promptly after space is held.
  • Precisely detail on booking sheets the client’s room block, suite requirements, and meeting and banquet space needs to ensure accurate facility reservations.
  • Collect, document, and route all essential information for definite groups, including billing information, credit applications, rooming lists, and VIP arrangements; relay meeting details, menus, and AV requirements to the catering team for follow-up.
  • Maintain and work toward the sales quota assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction and anticipate guests' needs.
  • Provide the Director of Sales with weekly sales call reports and itineraries outlining planned calls to potential customers.
  • Collaborate cooperatively with colleagues across departments.
  • Promote a culture of guest service, demonstrating courtesy, goodwill and a positive attitude in all interactions; fulfill reasonable requests as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage with clients, listening and communicating product benefits in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Capability to perform in a high demand and occasionally high pressure environment.
  • High work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Some travel is required.
  • Regular attendance according to established guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules to meet the property's business needs.
  • Basic computational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete assignments on time amidst interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and uphold staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Capacity to participate in and, at times, lead departmental or hotel team meetings.

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, or carrying items.
  • Ability to lift and move 10–25 pounds as needed.
  • Visual acuity to read from screens and printed materials, with close focus and color differentiation where required.
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, including use of a phone or headset.
