In Orlando, FL, this onsite Sales Manager role pairs revenue ownership with guest-focused service. You will help drive booking results, coordinate group activity, and support growth through business development and competitive market monitoring.

What you’ll do

  • Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue.
  • Support monthly performance by helping meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average, with liberty to negotiate with supervision on individual groups within established guidelines while maintaining overall revenue goals.
  • Handle inquiry calls promptly within the business day and monitor paperwork flow from confirming group details through client follow-through.
  • Take a major role in business development, adapting sales strategies based on market conditions and demand.
  • Compile prospect lists for sales leads using information from the internet, business directories, and other sources.
  • Conduct in-person sales calls at client places of business on a regular basis.
  • Entertain potential clients on site as determined by management, including using qualified account reports during sales visits when appropriate.
  • Monitor competitive facilities, including pricing, service levels, facilities, and group activities, to keep the hotel in a strong market position.
  • Evaluate potential business for profitability and overall benefit using various reports and guidance from management.
  • Coordinate Sales group functions, including timely preparation of Sales Contracts and Group Resumes to align expectations on products and services.
  • Follow up on booked groups to maximize occupancy by tracking room night pick up, rooming lists, and cut-off dates.
  • Follow up on bookings to solicit repeat business.
  • Participate in the RFP process for the hotel.
  • Meet and greet clients upon arrival and visit with clients daily when in-house.
  • Obtain, detail, document, and route information on definite groups, including billing information, credit application, rooming list, and VIP arrangements.
  • Develop new business through accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts, and contacting new customers in the market.
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly sales blitzes and maintain third-party group booking sites.
  • Assist with digital marketing, social media campaigns, and website initiatives to support hotel promotion.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Sales experience in hospitality or a related field (listed twice in the source) and strong professional connections in the local market.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence others, negotiate, provide friendly service, and demonstrate professional selling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong organization and presentation skills.

Working environment

  • Stand or remain stationary for long periods (3–4 hours at a time).
  • Type and operate computers/office machinery, including 10-key operation and data entry.
  • Inspect and visually observe details close-up and from a distance.
  • Frequently walk around the property to give tours.
  • Noise level is usually moderate, with phone ringing and frequent communication.
  • Some travel may be required to meet prospective and current clients.
