Job Description
Temporary Sales Manager role at Holiday Inn in Torrance, CA, onsite, paying $35 - $40 per hour, focused on direct sales to grow room night sales and revenue while coordinating hotel departments to secure future bookings.
Responsibilities
- Build and expand the hotel's client base across individuals, associations, corporate partners, and social groups through proactive outside and inside selling to meet or exceed room night and revenue targets.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through ongoing prospecting.
- Meet personal quotas and contribute to team targets as directed.
- Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved guidelines; prepare and review sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering orders with accuracy.
- Support the development and execution of sales plans and participate in annual budgeting and planning as needed.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to fulfill services agreed with clients; share sales information with relevant teams.
- Plan and host special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for prospects; entertain guests per policy.
- Maintain client files and update information daily; generate monthly sales reports and forecasts for the assigned area.
- Promote teamwork and high quality service through daily cross-department communication across all hotel departments.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and sales trips to key feeder markets.
- Follow up with clients during and after events to ensure satisfaction and secure repeat bookings.
- Engage with external contacts including guests, airlines, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, and ad agencies to drive repeat and new business; connect with professional organizations and community groups as needed.
- Monitor inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- May serve as manager on duty as required.
- Physical and professional expectations include frequent movement around the facility, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, and maintaining a natural, professional, and personable demeanor; demonstrate preparedness, care for guests, and initiative in daily duties.
Requirements
- Some college plus 1-2 years of sales or marketing related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A related degree is preferred.
- Prior hotel sales experience is preferred.
- Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
