Area Sales Director
Job Description
The Area Sales Director for Acute Care oversees the sales channel, driving revenue growth and quota attainment through collaborative, consultative engagements with distribution partners and C-Level customers.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed the annual sales quota and drive overall revenue growth.
- Lead and manage the Acute Care sales channel.
- Oversee Acute Care relationships with national and regional distributors.
- Plan and participate in key sales meetings, tradeshows, and regional events with distribution partners.
- Deliver corporate training initiatives.
- Co-travel with select customer sales representatives.
- Maintain monthly pipeline reviews and variance reporting.
- Lead clinical training and education for the Acute Care team and customers as needed.
- Model and foster sales process discipline and high standards in selling.
- Collaborate with the pricing team to improve profitability.
- Provide clinical support and act as liaison, contributing to portfolio development of new Acute Care products.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Acute Care environment, including competitive bidding, product portfolios, and strategic market development.
- Coach and develop direct reports, including pre-call planning and reviewing collateral tools and reports.
- Utilize Salesforce to monitor pipeline, variance, account content accuracy, and growth targets.
- Ensure quarterly and monthly goals are met for key accounts.
- Execute pricing agreements for distributors and key accounts.
- Maintain a disciplined samples request process for all accounts.
- Uphold pricing and profitability standards with direct reports.
- Provide competitive intelligence, monitor market positioning, identify trends, and assess potential impact on the business.
- Maintain oversight of average selling prices, overall profitability, and regional volume.
Requirements
- Four or more years of progressive sales leadership experience guiding a geographically diverse team selling medical products in acute and/or alternate care markets.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA preferred.
- Travel about 60 percent to cover New York, NY; New Jersey; Boston, MA; Hartford, CT; and Philadelphia, PA.
