Area Sales Manager
Job Description
Toll Brothers is hiring an Area Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Consultants for the division office in Hilton Head Island, SC. This onsite role focuses on building a culture of sales excellence while partnering closely with Marketing, Project Management, and Online Sales to drive qualified traffic, strengthen customer connections, and improve sales performance.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Coach community Sales Consultants on designing and executing local engagement plans to generate qualified traffic, including Realtor outreach, prospects, referrals, and Quick Delivery Homes (QDHs), while partnering with Marketing to drive execution.
- Spot community sales challenges and collaborate with Sales and Project Management to find solutions.
- Act as the voice of sales and the voice of customers to division management.
- Conduct competitive analysis and recommend improvements to optimize sales results.
- Provide input on floorplans and model homes during new community start-up.
- Advise on divisional sales and marketing plans.
- Champion compensation initiatives, including compensation program design and sales contests.
- Support the Online Sales program through co-coaching and problem-solving to improve partnerships across the sales organization.
- Mentor and coach team members by identifying performance gaps, training needs, and helping develop performance and training plans.
- Identify, recruit, and hire future sales team members to improve hiring success and retention.
- Build and maintain relationships with external Sales Professionals to support future placement when staffing needs are identified.
- Reinforce corporate expectations for performance, behaviors, and mindsets, and ensure technology use and adoption (including follow-up activities and weekly buyer updates calls) are completed consistently and logged in Salesforce.
- Reinforce training and serve effectively on HOA boards as needed.
- Implement both National and locally instituted directives.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Manage a team of 10+ Sales Consultants, optimizing performance across people capabilities, team integration, task allocation, direction, support, guidance, motivation, and performance management.
- Provide effective feedback across the performance management cycle to drive optimum performance.
- Understand what motivates your team, express gratitude for efforts, and reward achievements.
- Collaborate across multiple departments to achieve results.
- Communicate clearly, using appropriate grammar, organizing ideas effectively, and articulating concisely.
- Use creative problem-solving to address business needs and issues.
- Understand business practices, procedures, and systems that help a company make money.
- Travel 4 days a week working in the field, visiting each community once every 2 weeks.
- 5+ home sales experience
- 2+ years of experience managing, coaching, or mentoring others
- CRM software experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Salesforce experience desired but not required
- 2+ people management experience
- New home construction knowledge
On-site schedule
- On-site 5 days per week
- Additional field travel: 4 days per week, visiting each community once every 2 weeks
