Needlepoint in Paradise is a busy Naples retail boutique offering a full-time Assistant Sales Manager role onsite in Naples, FL. The position is $23 to $26 per hour and runs 30 to 40 hours per week, with some Saturdays. You’ll also have a flexible schedule and an employee discount.

How this role supports store success

In this position, you’ll help lead the sales floor alongside the Store Manager while supporting daily store operations. The Assistant Sales Manager helps maintain smooth workflows, drives strong customer experiences, and ensures the boutique runs effectively, including when the Store Manager is unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a warm, welcoming shopping experience.
• Assist customers with product selections, purchases, and questions or concerns.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving store sales goals.
• Lead by example on the sales floor and build strong, long-term customer relationships.
• Help supervise and support employees, including training and onboarding new team members.
• Provide daily guidance and direction to staff, including assisting with scheduling and assigning tasks.
• Oversee store operations confidently when the Store Manager is not available, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure daily workflow runs efficiently and operational issues are handled independently when appropriate.
• Support inventory management, including receiving merchandise and restocking.
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays and organized store presentation.
• Process sales and transactions using Shopify POS.
• Assist with online order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
• Follow store policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and support classes, workshops, special events, and trunk shows, including registrations and customer communications.
• Manage event supplies and setup, and support visiting instructors and special programs.

Requirements

• Previous retail experience, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Leadership skills to motivate a team.
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new systems.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Dependable, professional, and proactive work style.
• Availability to work five days per week, including some Saturdays.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Shopify POS or similar retail systems.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising.
• Experience in specialty retail or boutique environments.
• Knowledge of needlepoint, knitting, embroidery, or other needle arts.
