Job Description

Well Master Corporation is hiring a Business Development Manager for Data & Automation Solutions to drive growth of its Data and Automation Solutions (DAS) across the United States. This hybrid-remote role focuses on building the US sales pipeline, strengthening channel relationships, and opening new accounts across major US oilfield basins, with duties that evolve from business development into ongoing account management.

In this position, you will uncover repeatable, multi-well opportunities, represent DAS at key industry events, and partner with technical teams to support trials and commissioning timelines. Because the work is remote, the role requires residence in a major US oilfield market near a major airport to enable customer and travel commitments.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and facilitate large-scale, repeatable multi-well opportunities with existing and new DAS customers across active US basins.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of new US prospects using Well Master’s relationships, industry events, and basin-specific outreach, maintaining 10+ qualified prospects at a given time.
  • Represent DAS at major US oilfield automation forums, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Create account-specific ROI presentations and case studies translating DAS value into operator KPIs.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support, product education, and demonstrations.
  • Develop quotations, negotiate contracts, and close sales by agreeing to terms and conditions as approved.
  • Coordinate with Applications Engineers and Technical Service Managers on well evaluations, site visits, and commissioning support to keep trial schedules moving.
  • Own the day-to-day commercial relationship with active US DAS accounts.
  • Manage and report on CRM pipeline with monthly stage updates to DAS leadership, and track personal sales statistics for period reviews.
  • Conduct proactive customer “good will” calls and after-sales outreach to support renewal and referral pipeline.
  • Respond to all inquiries and sales requests within specified timeframes.
  • Cross-train and share basin-specific customer insights with Global Business Development and field teams to keep the DAS value proposition consistent across geographies.
  • Submit sales tickets and CRM records accurately and on time following Well Master procedures.
  • Participate in continued education on DAS product updates and evolving sales techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Ability to translate complex automation and software concepts into a clear, non-technical ROI narrative for oilfield operators.
  • Capability to manage multiple customer accounts and trial-to-commercial conversions simultaneously across a wide territory.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Professional, credible presentation skills with audiences ranging from field operators to executive decision-makers.
  • Ability to make presentations and communicate complex technical subjects to an audience of one or twenty.
  • Strong analytical skills, including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Applications Engineers, Technical Service Managers, and Field Technicians to keep customer commitments on track.
  • Strong business acumen to communicate and deliver DAS’s value proposition to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Discipline using CRM tools to track pipeline, forecast, and report accurately.
  • Leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with excellent oral and written communication.

Education & Experience

  • College degree preferred.
  • Oil & gas sales or business development experience required; artificial lift, automation, SCADA/RTU, or oilfield technology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling SaaS, subscription, or other technology-licensing models is a plus.
  • Artificial Lift: 3 years (Preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 50–75%) to customer well sites, basin offices, and industry events.
  • Must reside in a major US oilfield market and within reasonable driving distance of a major airport.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year.
  • Commission and bonus pay: eligible for both.
  • Choice of health care plans with company contribution toward premiums.
  • FSA and HSA plans available.
  • Dental & vision plans available.
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability and life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan: Safe Harbor Match of 100% of first 1% contribution and 50% on next 5% contribution (total of 3.5% match on 6% contribution).
  • Voluntary supplemental life insurance, legal & ID theft protection benefits.
  • Paid Time Off: 3 weeks annually.
  • Paid Holidays: 10 days annually.
  • Technical product and sales skills training.
  • A great work culture.
  • Additional listed items include 401(k) and matching, dental, health, life, vision insurance, and paid time off.
