Business Development Manager - Industrial and Roofing
Job Description
Based in Omaha, Nebraska with the option to operate from Des Moines, Iowa, this on-site Industrial and Roofing Business Development Manager role partners with Spectrum Paint Company Inc to drive growth in the industrial and roofing markets across Nebraska and Iowa. You will report to the National Industrial Business Development Manager and will travel to pursue new opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Research current industry trends and identify opportunities to expand within the industrial and roofing sectors
- Share knowledge through ongoing education, networking, events, and presentations
- Drive market segment growth by proactively analyzing conditions to increase the customer base
- Collaborate with executive leadership and the sales team to meet sales targets and profitability goals
- Contribute market intelligence and revenue/margin analysis to strategic planning and the introduction of new products
- Provide product recommendations, application guidance, and competitive pricing on coatings for industrial and roofing projects
- Grow sales with existing commercial, manufacturing, and business accounts through relationship-based strategies
- Regularly update Regional Sales Management on account status and progress
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with external partners and internal teams
- Meet objectives aligned with the company’s strategic plan
- Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Solid understanding of Spectrum Paint Company’s products, market position, and competitive landscape
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Future eligibility for NACE CIP LV 1 certification (if not already obtained)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- History of achieving sales and growth targets
- Strong customer relationship management and retention capabilities
- Proficiency in product knowledge, presentations, and client relationship building
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to company policies
- Excellent verbal and written communication with negotiation and closing skills
- Ability to pass a background and motor vehicle record check
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Territory management experience is a plus
