Job Description
The Senior Business Development Manager for Intelligence and Sensing Surveillance is an on site, Redondo Beach based role at Northrop Grumman. The position focuses on leading end to end business development strategies, identifying growth opportunities, and directing capture efforts for both new and ongoing programs. This internship level opportunity combines strategic BD leadership with practical execution in a defense technology context.
Summary
In this role, the incumbent guides comprehensive business development initiatives for intelligence and surveillance programs, driving growth opportunities and shaping capture strategies for both new starts and expansion of existing programs.
Responsibilities
- Apply broad strategic thinking to evolving customer needs, competitive positioning, required capabilities, and the tactical moves needed to win in the market.
- Form and execute growth strategies, identify and cultivate new business opportunities, set pursuit priorities, deepen customer relationships, and develop effective capture plans.
- Develop and mature contact plans with customer organizations and key influencers.
- Assess customer needs and competitive threats for target opportunities to translate them into win strategies aligned with Northrop Grumman’s acquisition process.
- Create high level offering concepts that meet mission needs affordably by tailoring and expanding capabilities, leveraging current technology development, reuse, and strategic partners.
- Develop and deliver briefings for customers, partners, and executives.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and the business pipeline to support the Business Unit Long-Range Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support competitive assessment, capture, and proposal teams in proposal development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional or military experience, or a master’s degree with 6 years of related experience.
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis and executive level reporting, presentation, and presence.
- Ability to rapidly build rapport and operate as a trusted team member within the Business Unit.
- Active TS/SCI clearance at the time of application.
