Job Description

Director of Business Development for Leonardo DRS Land Systems in Bridgeton, MO (hybrid) leads the Maneuver Support campaign, drives new and existing customer relationships, shapes capture strategy and bookings across DoD markets, and coordinates with Program Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing to position the portfolio for mission-relevant wins.

Responsibilities

  • Nurture ongoing business development opportunities with current customers
  • Identify and pursue new customer relationships to expand the base
  • Develop and sustain a multi-year opportunity pipeline aligned with the strategic plan
  • Contribute to short and long-term strategic plans to meet or exceed the bookings forecast under leadership
  • Take ownership for the accuracy and attainment of the bookings forecast and plan
  • Maintain regular engagement with prospective, new, and existing customers
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and symposia relevant to the market
  • Conduct competitive market analysis, monitor competitor activity, and identify customer needs
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and programs, short- and long-range, to achieve financial objectives and drive product and service innovation
  • Assist in managing Bid and Proposal budgets
  • Assist in planning, designing, and implementing business plans such as capture plans and proposal activities
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and other departments to coordinate customer activities and market strategies
  • Support and reinforce the organization’s mission, values, and culture
  • Deliver presentations on the portfolio of products and services
  • Attend meetings as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Deep knowledge of US DoD acquisition, contracting, and budgeting processes and regulations
  • Experience leading captures, price-to-win strategies, and proposal management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, project management, and time management abilities
  • Ability to tackle complex, high-impact problems
  • Advanced knowledge of Leonardo DRS products, markets, and technology
  • Willing and able to travel 20-25 percent of the time domestically and internationally
