Job Description

Northern Safety & Industrial NSI offers proactive, supply chain solutions and industrial products delivered with prompt, personal attention. This District Sales Manager role supports complete program support from initial design through implementation, training, and ongoing analysis, with strong benefits designed for long-term growth.

Compensation: $95,000 per year. Pay varies based on factors such as labor markets and, in some instances, education, skills, work experience, and certifications. An annual incentive bonus may be available.

What you’ll do

The District Sales Manager oversees sales execution across a designated geographic area by leading and managing a team of sales representatives. You will develop and implement strategic sales plans, drive revenue growth, manage customer relationships, and analyze market trends to identify opportunities.

  • Create and implement sales strategies to achieve district targets and increase market share
  • Recruit, train, on-board, and manage a high-performing sales team
  • Coach and mentor the team to improve performance and support professional growth
  • Analyze sales data and metrics to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Set performance goals and evaluate team progress regularly
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues to improve satisfaction and loyalty
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats
  • Adjust sales strategies based on market insights and customer feedback
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management
  • Communicate performance insights and recommendations for strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Solutions, Corporate Accounts, Vertical Management, BDM Team, Training, and Product Development to align sales initiatives with business objectives
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to support organizational goals
  • Manage the district sales budget and allocate resources to maximize ROI
  • Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing development programs for the sales team
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations, including CRM compliance, Pipeline Management, Activity Management, and Expense Protocols
  • Travel with every Account Manager once per quarter for a minimum of three days in succession
  • Meet with all Account Managers weekly and meet regularly to coach Pipeline
  • Facilitate team calls with at least monthly cadence
  • Facilitate quarterly business reviews with Account Managers and key customers quarterly
  • Drive Solutions adoption and expand customer share through Solution Systems

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Management
  • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Strong leadership ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex information clearly
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and emotional intelligence
  • Industry client relations experience strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance coverage, and access to a vehicle
  • Flexible work schedule with occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected, up to 70%
