Manager, Business Development
Job Description
GitLab is seeking a remote Manager of Business Development to lead the AMER outbound BDR program. In this role you will hire, onboard, and mentor BDRs, while partnering with the sales team to generate pipeline and report to the Director, Business Development. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the US or Canada while shaping a high-performing outbound team.
Responsibilities
- Coach and train BDRs to identify, contact, and create qualified opportunities.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback in weekly 1:1s to improve performance over time.
- Plan for hiring and onboarding new BDRs.
- Collaborate with Events and Digital teams on field events and targeted ad and nurture campaigns.
- Partner with Sales Development Leadership and Sales Development Operations to refine opportunity management and qualification processes.
- Work with Sales leadership, including Regional VPs/Directors/Area Sales Managers, to identify key accounts for development.
- Coordinate with Content, Marketing Program Managers, and Product Marketing to craft effective outbound messaging for assigned accounts.
Requirements
- Experience in sales, marketing, or customer service for a technical product.
- People management experience is required; experience driving new logos is a plus.
- Experience leading teams handling commercial accounts.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Experience with CRM software, with Salesforce preferred.
- Experience in sales operations and/or marketing automation software preferred.
- Understanding of B2B software, Open Source software, and the developer product space is preferred.
- Passionate about technology and eager to learn more about GitLab.
- Willingness to learn how to use GitLab and Git.
- Alignment with GitLab values and a track record of acting in accordance with them.
- Demonstrated leadership at GitLab or in similar roles.

Compensation
Salary: USD 96,320 - 135,800 per year
Overview of this role
This 100 percent remote position is based in the United States or Canada. As a Manager of Business Development for the AMER region, you will hire, onboard, and mentor outbound BDRs in your area, ensuring their success at GitLab. You will work closely with the sales team to drive pipeline and results and report to the Director, Business Development.
