Manager, Sales Business Development
Job Description
In this onsite role, you will manage military engine proposal efforts for Pratt & Whitney, spanning the full lifecycle from pre-RFP planning through contract award. You will lead proposal development across multiple programs while partnering with internal teams, customers, and US Government stakeholders to ensure submissions meet required standards.
You will own proposal execution planning, coordination, and compliance for the Business Acquisition team, including negotiations and continuous improvement activities aligned to evolving customer needs. The position also supports USG requirements through fact-finding, RFI responses, and formal proposal sweeps, followed by structured after action review.
What you will do
- Lead Military Engine proposal teams from pre-RFP stages through contract award, managing all aspects of proposal development including plans, schedules, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and customers.
- Collaborate with US Government entities to define proposal requirements; oversee fact-finding missions, manage RFI responses, support negotiations, and run final sweep processes.
- Train proposal teams in relevant processes and tools to support consistent execution.
- Review technical volumes to ensure compatibility with Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
- Participate in offer evaluations and negotiations.
- Drive continuous improvement within the Business Acquisition team, and support proposal requirement working group meetings with the USG customer as requested.
- Ensure proposals delivered to the customer are compliant with USG requirements and Pratt & Whitney policies.
- Complete an After Action Review (AAR) following proposal submittal.
- Play an active role in driving change through the Business Acquisition team.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry, or 5+ years with a Master’s degree.
- 2+ years of proposal management or project management experience within U.S. DoD, or experience supporting international military programs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- 10% travel.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience coordinating executive decision-making using data-driven reporting and analytics.
- Experience supporting executive leadership communications, customer engagement, and strategic business reviews.
- Mentoring and leadership development experience.
- Master’s degree.

- Compensation: USD 107,500 - 204,500 per year
- Role type: Onsite, with employees working primarily onsite
- For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility
