National Sales Manager
Job Description
Join Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa in Marco Island, FL, where your sales leadership directly supports group revenue growth and long-term business development. This onsite National Sales Manager role focuses on driving revenue and activity results through direct and indirect solicitation, qualifying new and existing business, and maintaining accurate sales data in the Delphi system. You will also partner closely with the conference services department to strengthen future group performance.
What you’ll do
- Drive revenue and activity goals by leading solicitation efforts, qualifying existing and new business, and keeping database information accurate.
- Collaborate with conference services to maximize revenues for upcoming group bookings.
- Complete at least 25 telephone and email solicitations weekly while in the office.
- Respond to inquiries within 24 hours or by the due date noted.
- Negotiate group room rates and the most profitable concession packages, including banquet food and beverage contribution, aligned with Hilton’s Revenue Manager and established hotel guidelines.
- Conduct hotel site inspections around the property to sell all available facets of the resort.
- Entertain clients as appropriate for potential business.
- Monitor program and room pickup, including receipt of rooming lists at 90, 60, and 30 days out.
- Maintain sales database accounts, activity/traces, and correspondence within Delphi.
- Ensure timely and accurate distribution of information to all departments.
- Project future business on a monthly basis to evaluate individual and team progress toward goals.
- Analyze opportunities to maximize hotel revenues.
- Assist with generating monthly and quarterly sales projections and group specifications.
- Support budgeting by forecasting group room nights and revenue for contracted business.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive set.
- Attend bi-weekly sales meetings and training meetings throughout the year.
- Travel to the assigned geographical area for direct solicitations of new and existing clients.
- Attend trade shows according to the annual marketing plan travel schedule and entertain clients where necessary.
- Participate in pre-convention meetings with clients and hotel staff for groups of 50 rooms or more.
- Meet and entertain on-site meeting planners.
- Prepare monthly sales reports and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales.
What you bring
- Knowledge of hotel structure and how departments interact.
- Ability to present articulately about the destination and resort, including during formal settings or site inspections.
- Experience and knowledge in the group meeting market, current market trends, and economic factors, including sales presentation development and delivery.
- Familiarity with business and marketing plans, budget forecasting and management, quality assurance programs, hotel law, and long-range planning.
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and ensure goals are achieved.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills, including delegation and meeting deadlines under strict time limitations.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge of federal and state regulations to hospitality industry situations.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English to clearly communicate with management, staff, and clients.
- Basic computer skills; knowledge of Delphi, FDC, OnQ, and Microsoft Office software preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills to build and maintain budgets and cost analysis reports and calculate trends from guest and team member opinion reports.
- Ability to move throughout the premises and visually inspect conditions requiring bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and handle guests with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to travel to required locations while maintaining contact with the hotel.
- Ability to remain stationary and concentrate for long periods, including in high-volume, high-pressure areas.
- Dexterity for extended finger and hand movement, including use of switches, writing instruments, and computer keyboards.
- Ability to grasp and lift up to 25 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4-year college degree preferred in hotel/restaurant management, sales and marketing, or a similar field.
- 3 to 5 years of prior Hilton Hotels Sales Experience necessary.
- Additional experience in hotel operations preferred; prior hotel sales experience necessary.
Schedule and compliance
- Schedules may vary based on hotel business needs, including weekends and holidays.
- Must comply with rules and standards set forth by Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa, Olshan Properties, and Hilton Hotels Corporation.
Salary: USD 90,000 - 95,000 per year.
Location: Marco Island, FL (onsite).
