Regional Sales Director
Job Description
Drive tactical regional growth and lead outside sales professionals for Model1 Commercial Vehicles in Alpharetta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Lead tactical sales growth in the region by conducting regular co-op sales calls with each salesperson
- Own high-level performance across commercial vehicle product lines, with focus on market share, revenue growth, and profit margins
- Spot growth opportunities and potential new markets within the assigned geography
- Perform thorough market analysis and build industry expertise in the region
- Develop an in-depth understanding of local competition, including sales strategies, inventory levels and mix, and competitive pricing
- Support the RVP with quota setting, sales forecast creation, and monitoring salesperson performance against goals
- Recruit, develop, and retain regional salespeople; identify coverage gaps and execute personnel strategies
- Manage a structured onboarding approach for new salespeople; identify training gaps and implement training plans as needed
- Provide front line guidance, motivation, and support for strategy, negotiation, and closing complex deals
- Attend all high-profile customer sales meetings
- Run performance cycles: conduct quarterly evaluations, deliver monthly 1:1 coaching, and provide constructive feedback for growth and development
- Maintain accountability to sales quotas for each outside salesperson; redirect efforts to ensure quota attainment
- Cultivate strong relationships with key customers and partners; ensure the customer voice is reflected in company decisions
- Manage a subset of high-profile regional accounts
- Collaborate with the RVP to gather customer input and incorporate it into local go-to-market approaches
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand network and visibility
- Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for the RVP
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, finance) to execute local sales strategies
- Act as an escalation point for outside salespeople when required
- Assist the RVP in developing and managing the regional sales budget and allocating resources to optimize sales performance
- Drive CRM discipline and sales process accountability using HubSpot CRM (and related initiatives)
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience with progress in sales leadership roles
- Experience in a large regional or national dealership environment is a plus
- Documented ability to accurately forecast and exceed sales targets, driving revenue growth
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate a sales team
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Road warrior role: willingness to travel by plane and car within the assigned region approximately 50% to 75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
- Experience in the commercial vehicle industry or related industry, including commercial or mid-sized B2B sales
- Deep knowledge of the commercial vehicle market, including key players, customer segments, and emerging trends
- Analytical mindset to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions
