Job Description

Right Traffic is hiring a Sales Development Supervisor for an onsite, field-based role based in Mechanicsville, VA. You will lead a team of Account Managers while staying actively involved with clients and business development, supported by hands-on coaching and clear performance expectations.

This position is travel-intensive, requiring extensive time on the road across Canada and the United States, including participation in meetings, negotiations, trade events, and industry follow-up. The role blends leadership, sales execution, and operational discipline to drive results.

What you’ll do

  • Hire, onboard, and coach Account Managers in alignment with Right Traffic’s vision, values, and growth objectives.
  • Create customized training and action plans to help new Account Managers ramp up quickly and effectively.
  • Motivate and empower the team to achieve sales goals through mentorship, support, and accountability.
  • Review team performance, establish clear KPIs, and adjust strategy based on results.
  • Support Account Managers across the sales cycle, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Help team members manage complex customer organizations with multiple decision-makers.
  • Oversee the team’s CRM usage to maintain clean data, accurate pipeline tracking, and forecasting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, providing hands-on support in key meetings and negotiations.
  • Attend industry trade shows and events to strengthen brand awareness, support prospecting, and monitor market trends.
  • Collaborate with marketing to recommend and implement targeted campaigns by region, industry, or client segment.
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead or assist in bidding on posted tenders and RFPs to expand company contracts.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in outside sales, business development, or field operations.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comfort with extensive travel across Canada and the U.S.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in the traffic control, construction, or infrastructure industry.
  • Familiarity with bidding processes for public and private contracts.
