Job Description

Join Aramark in Ann Arbor, MI as a Sales Manager on-site. This role focuses on leading a proactive group sales effort that drives revenue, supports hotel profitability, and helps ensure strong customer satisfaction. You will set the pace by generating business, tracking performance against targets, and building relationships that translate into repeat and new bookings.

What you’ll do

  • Lead group sales activity with a strong, consultative selling approach, demonstrating excellent selling skills throughout the sales cycle.
  • Grow group business by applying knowledge of group markets and actively prospecting and soliciting repeat and new opportunities.
  • Manage the sales process from inquiry through contract, including prompt handling of inquiry calls.
  • Ensure efficient paperwork flow by monitoring confirmation of function details with clients.
  • Meet or exceed booking goals for guest room revenue, and meet or exceed budgeted revenue on a quarterly average basis while negotiating as needed on individual functions within established guidelines and maintaining overall revenue goals.
  • Solicit new and repeat guest room and event business, and maintain a strong client base covering key accounts and conventions.
  • Determine client and guest needs, then translate those requirements to the right next steps for the hotel team.
  • Conduct outside sales calls and phone solicitation calls to obtain business.
  • Perform on-site inspections to book business.
  • Assist with evaluating potential business opportunities based on profitability and overall hotel benefit.
  • Represent the hotel in community affairs and industry-related events.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, database entries, and reports to support quality service and improve future prospecting.
  • Use a general understanding of the STR report and other key industry metrics or analysis to inform decisions.
  • Work within the broader team effort by participating in outside calls and prospecting and solicitation.

  • Comfortable conversing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at different organizational levels.
  • Ability to gather details important to group business and communicate effectively with the hotel operations team.
  • Two or more years of hotel experience.
  • Ability to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
