Job Description
Bo Lacey Construction is seeking a hands-on Sales Manager to lead its growing residential sales organization in Ashland, OH.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a residential sales organization focused on performance and close rates
- Develop salespeople by setting clear accountability, coaching in real time, and strengthening close rate execution
- Own overall sales performance by understanding the numbers, communicating them clearly, and taking action when targets are missed
- Conduct frequent ride-alongs and observe full in-home sales presentations
- Coach immediately after appointments, focusing on what to change and how to improve outcomes
- Ride with both new and experienced salespeople to model great execution in the field
- Sit across the kitchen table and close jobs personally when necessary
- Lead approximately 16–20 residential sales professionals, with ongoing hiring planned as the team grows
- Build a winning sales culture through consistent coaching, recognition for strong performance, and fast follow-up on performance issues
- Run and enforce a structured 10-step in-home sales process built around a one-day-close philosophy
- Ensure training shows up in the home and that the team follows the company’s sales process
- Support the operating rhythm that keeps the sales organization focused and accountable:
- Daily sales huddles
- Weekly coaching
- Individual performance reviews
- Sales scorecards
- Pipeline reviews
- Forecasting
- Ride-along planning
- Drive new-hire development and certification:
- New-hire development
- Sales certification
- CRM discipline
- Sales coaching during ramp-up
- Use performance improvement plans when necessary
- Work alongside recruiting and training teams to interview candidates:
- Help identify the right people
- Participate in hiring decisions
- Onboard new salespeople and shorten ramp-up time
- Evaluate new-hire progress
- Develop future leaders and retain top performers
- Continually raise the overall talent level
- Support difficult opportunities as appropriate, including:
- Building value
- Overcoming objections
- Asking for the business
Requirements
- Proven experience leading a sales team
- Strong experience coaching and developing salespeople
- B2C experience (required)
- High-ticket residential or in-home sales experience strongly preferred
- Home improvement sales experience preferred
- One-call-close experience strongly preferred
- A track record of improving close rates and sales performance
- Strong understanding of sales KPIs and forecasting
- Experience recruiting and onboarding salespeople
- Comfort using CRM and performance-management systems
- Strong communication skills and leadership presence
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of the rotating sales schedule
- Willingness to spend significant time in the field
- Ability to personally demonstrate and close an in-home sale

Schedule
- Residential in-home sales happen when homeowners are available
- Most important appointments often occur during evenings and weekends
- Rotating A/B schedule for the sales organization; Sales Manager works within a similar rhythm
- Evening availability during prime appointment times
- Regular Saturday availability
- Occasional Sunday availability based on the rotating team schedule
- Two consecutive days off each week
- Schedule may include:
- Sunday/Monday off one week
- Saturday/Sunday off another week
- Flexibility to structure the day around field coaching and ride-alongs
Location: Ashland, OH (onsite) | Compensation: USD 100,000 per year | Minimum experience: 5 years
