Sr. Home Loan Officer - Business Development
Job Description
Sales-focused mortgage role supporting member lending and outside referral growth in Albany, OR (temporarily remote).
Responsibilities
- Meet minimum established individual goals each month.
- Generate borrower leads through in-person calls on real estate agents and brokers, financial advisors, builders, and other referral sources.
- Meet prospective clients at locations outside of Gesa as needed.
- Attend open houses and other industry events as needed.
- Complete loan origination thoroughly and in alignment with Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Ensure approved loans comply with applicable regulations and established standards with zero errors.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
- Use working knowledge of mortgage products and rates across the Credit Union and the broader industry.
- Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
- Interview members for residential mortgage loans and clearly explain financing and mortgage program requirements.
- Inform members of preliminary financial analysis results.
- Calculate loan estimates and monitor loan status to process in a timely manner.
- Perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
- Attend Credit Union training sessions, conferences, and seminars as approved by supervisor, maintaining awareness of relevant policies and regulations.
- Build positive relationships with real estate agents and members of the community to increase loan sales production.
- Promptly report areas and actions of concern to the supervisor as actionable items.
- Control risk and perform duties in a safe and sound manner.
- Maintain and protect sensitive data using the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism, showing respect for diversity and varying levels of knowledge.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of similar or related experience; mortgage lending experience desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent completion of specialized course of study, training, and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred (not required).
- Obtain and maintain a valid NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identification (MLO) Number.
- Extensive knowledge of conforming and non-conforming loans (secondary market definitions desired).
- Experience with Desktop Underwriting or other lending-specific software desired.
- Proven outside sales track record desired, including development of new business through calling the real estate community and membership in professional organizations.
- Experience in loan origination consistent with FNMA guidelines; FHA and VA loan originations desired.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, lending software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Independent travel required to achieve training and business objectives.
- Valid Driver’s License required.

Temporary Remote and Travel
- Temporarily remote position in the Oregon area.
- Occasional travel to Gesa locations may be required to fulfill job requirements.
Salary
- USD 45,760 - 350,000 per year (Base/Commission)
- Full pay range listed; most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
