Job Description

The Transportation Engineering Sales Director role is a senior sales leadership position based on-site in Houston, TX, responsible for growing Woolpert's Texas transportation practice. The role concentrates on roadway design, bridge programs, traffic engineering, and transportation planning and schematics, driving expansion across the Texas market with a target annual sales impact in the multi-million dollar range.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a robust pipeline across a diverse client base.
  • Expand activity beyond TxDOT to cities and counties.
  • Strengthen and extend existing client relationships to uncover additional projects within the service line, practice area, and firm.
  • Shape strategic pursuits and teaming arrangements.
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships aligned with target profiles, project types, and the service line's strategic goals.
  • Drive sustained revenue growth in the Texas transportation market.
  • Position the firm as a leading industry partner within the specified market, practice, and services for new and existing clients.
  • Support project managers in negotiating schedules, fees, scope, and contract terms, or lead these negotiations as needed.
  • Mentor project managers to improve sales aptitude through in-person coaching, client introductions, and interview guidance.
  • Leverage national delivery capabilities to support project execution.

Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS with 15+ years of related experience, or MA/MS with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Established relationships within TxDOT and/or local agencies.
  • Current professional registration, if applicable.
  • Direct accountability for approximately $10,000,000 in annual sales.
  • Proven track record of winning and delivering projects.
  • Ability to think strategically beyond the next pursuit.
  • Desire to build, lead, and leave a lasting impact.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to meet the needs of the practice area.
  • Demonstrates an enterprising, innovative, proactive management approach.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Legal work authorization for the job location.
